This policy explains how FlavorDJ handles recipe prompts, microphone access, AI processing, saved cooking content, payments, analytics, and your choices across web, ChatGPT, and iOS experiences.

1. Introduction and scope

This Privacy Policy explains how FlavorDJ collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use FlavorDJ on the web, in ChatGPT, or on iOS/Android apps (the Service). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

Recipe requests, ingredients, dishes, dietary restrictions, substitutions, cooking preferences, and feedback you submit.
Recipes, recipe images, cook sessions, timer names, and other content you choose to save or generate.
Account, subscription, support, and contact information you provide when using paid or account-based features.

Information collected automatically

Log data, timestamps, request metadata, device type, app version, browser type, and IP address.
Usage analytics, including feature interactions, voice session activity, recipe generation events, and performance signals.
Payment status or entitlement information from payment providers. FlavorDJ does not receive full card numbers.

3. Voice sessions and microphone access

Voice features require microphone permission. When you start a voice session, FlavorDJ captures audio needed to understand your cooking request, respond in realtime, call recipe tools, focus recipe steps, and create or stop timers.

Voice and transcript data may be processed by AI and infrastructure providers to provide the voice assistant. You can stop a voice session in the app controls, and your device may also allow you to revoke microphone permission in system settings.

4. How we use information

Provide recipe generation, recipe modification, step-by-step cooking guidance, image generation, and named timers.
Store and display saved recipes, cook sessions, generated content, and account preferences.
Measure usage, diagnose issues, enforce limits, prevent misuse, and improve product quality.
Operate subscriptions, purchases, support, security, and service communications.

5. AI and automated processing

FlavorDJ uses AI systems to generate recipes, images, voice responses, step guidance, substitutions, and timers based on your inputs. AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. Use your judgment when following recipes, especially around allergies, food safety, cooking temperatures, and dietary needs.

7. Retention and generated content

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. Account deletion may remove account-linked references to saved recipes, but underlying generated recipe content may remain where necessary to operate and improve the Service.

8. Your choices and rights

You can delete your account where account deletion is available.
You can export recipe references where export is available.
You can stop voice sessions and manage microphone permissions through the app or operating system.

9. Security, children, and international users

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. FlavorDJ is intended for home cooks and is not directed to children. If you use FlavorDJ outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
